چکیده

The contribution proposes to improve the scalability and performance of the ranging channel for scalable OFDMA. Ranging performance is improved by using low PAPR sequences with good cross-correlation and eliminating interference caused by initial ranging timing offsets, and a a flexible ranging resource allocation is introduced that can adjust the ranging channel resources for scalable FFT sizes. Efficient resource allocation for emerging OFDMA wireless networks

In the context of IEEE 802.16e networks, physical transmission relies on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA). This mechanism defines resource allocation as a bi-dimensional mapping of spectral resources. Although in the IEEE 802.16e standard the Medium Access Control (MAC) and physical (PHY) layers are well defined, the problem of resource allocation still remains an open issu...

Multi-User Ranging Code Detection in OFDMA System Using MMLD Algorithm for Improving Detection Performance

Successive user detection algorithm is used to observe the multi user ranging signals and calculate there corresponding parameters. Using IEEE 802.16 specification in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), initial ranging method designed an algorithm called Moment Maximum Likelihood Detection (MMLD) to detect the codes assigned and predicting offset timing. The objective functio...

A Novel Mechanism for Contention-based Initial Ranging in IEEE 802.16e Networks

The paper proposes a Waiting-time Dependent Increasing rate Adapted Backoff (WDIA) algorithm to improve the contention efficiency in the IEEE 802.16e (OFDMA). A contention model is first proposed to analyze the frame-based behavior of contention resolution in 802.16e network. We introduce the concept of reduced overlapping between back-off windows of contending stations and we adopt adaptable i...

Pilot-Aided Channel Estimation for WiMAX 802.16e Downlink Partial Usage of Subchannel System Using Least Squares Line Fitting

This paper presents a pilot-aided channel estimation method which is particularly suitable for mobile WiMAX 802.16e Downlink Partial Usage of Subchannel mode. Based on this mode, several commonly used channel estimation methods are studied and the method of least squares line fitting is proposed. As data of users are distributed onto permuted clusters of subcarriers in the transmitted OFDMA sym...
